Late Score Costs Warriors Against Chester
Friday’s game against Chester was a heartbreaker for Warriors, as they lost the lead late in a 3-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with Chester batting in the bottom of the sixth when JD Carter singled off of Nolan Bolt, driving in one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Chester pitchers struck out two, while Warriors sat down five
Chester captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Chester.
Warriors knotted the game up at one in the top of the fifth inning. Chase Dougherty drove in one when he singled in the fifth inning.
Luke Wright earned the win for Chester. He tossed seven innings, surrendering one run, seven hits, striking out two, and walking zero. Nolan Bolt took the loss for Warriors. He threw six innings, allowing three runs, five hits, striking out five, and walking one.
Reed Lilly went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Warriors in hits.
Chester didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jared Dixon had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
