Warriors Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Fairfield Central
Warriors jumped out to an early lead over Fairfield Central and took home a 6-2 victory on Wednesday. Warriors scored on a single by Hunter Laney and a single by Justin Cope in the first inning.
Warriors captured the lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Hunter Laney drove in one run when he singled.
Seth Bevans earned the win for Warriors. He tossed four and a third innings, giving up two runs, one hit, and striking out four. Kyle Raynor threw two innings, as two relievers helped Warriors finish off the victory. Antonio Jackson took the loss for Fairfield Central. He threw six innings, surrendering five runs, ten hits, and striking out eight.
Warriors collected 12 hits. Justin Cope, Chris Rote, Chase Dougherty, and Laney each collected multiple hits for Warriors. Cope went 3-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in.
Fairfield Central stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Rodric Woodard led the way with two.
