The boys cross country team competed in the Region IV AAA Cross Country Championship on Wednesday October 18th at Camden Historic Park. The boys team placed second overall with a score of 50 points, Camden placed first for the second straight year with 23 points. Fairfield Central third 61 points, Columbia fourth 115 points, and Chester fifth 148 points.
Leading the Warriors was eighth grader Maddox Yegge placing fifth overall with a time of 18:12 a personal best. Walker Reeves placed seventh overall with a time of 18:26. Both Maddox Yegge and Walker Reeves by placing in the top seven overall were name to the All Region team. Juan Alejandro placed ninth overall 18:48, Kelton Bloxham 19:25, Noah Kiger 19:40, Connor Leyland 19:43, and Jared Diemer 19:55 also competed in the varsity race.
Leading the boys in the junior varsity race was Andrew LaFollette with a personal best time of 19:12. Graham McLaughlin 19:48, Michael Rosacco 20:18, Ryan Reeves 20:19, Nathan Powell 20:21, Jesse Bellflower 20:25, Hayden Stansbury 20:30, Tanner McLaughlin 20:43, Landon Blacknall 20:48, Alexander Krull 20:58, Isiah Phifer 21:00, James Malinowski 21:11, Kaden Teel 21:22, Kyle Daley 21:27, and Garrin Waiksnis 22:05 also competed for the team.
The Warriors next meet is the Lower State Qualifier on October 28th held at Darlington Middle School campus. The top ten teams will qualify for the State Championship meet on November 4th.
