The Indian Land Cross country team competed at the Providence Invitational on Saturday August 25th. The meet was held at the McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC. The girl’s team placed 9th out of 22 teams. The boy’s team placed 10th out of 26 teams.
Leading the way for the lady Warriors was Junior Hannah Sawyer who placed fifth overall with a time of 20:50. Mattie-Baile Tripp 23:22, Chloe Duernberger 23:53, Sara Valle 24:27, Olivia Morales 25:34, Caprielle Terry 25:45, and Grace Yegge 26:39 competed in the Varsity Invitational race.
In the girls junior varsity race Lina Schwippert led the warriors with a time of 26:31. Jolie Garmon 29:07, Danielle Griffith 29:17, Blakely Hardin 29:23, Julia Brown 29:44, Chloe Cockman 31:11, Audrey Remien 31:33, Zoe Campbell 32:33, Caroline Romack 32:58, Anna Connors 35:46, and Maithili Bhoop 37:49 also completed for the team.
Leading the varsity boy’s was Junior Walker Reeves who placed 26th overall with a personal best time of 18:21. Max Yegge 18:39, Ben Elson 19:10, Jaxon Barringer 19:35, Noah Kiger 20:22, Felix Gonzalez 22:29 and Andrew LaFollette 22:34 also competed in the varsity Invitational race.
In the boy’s junior varsity race Alexander Krull led the warriors with a time of 22:00. David Pohlheber 22:18, Isiah Phifer 22:31, Nathan Wardy 22:37, Connor Stebbins 22:48, Liam Bayley 23:05, Tanner McLaughlin 24:08, Peter Campbell 24:21, Ethan Geiger 24:31, Peter Stein 25:33, Scott Hansen 25:36, Jacob Sisler 27:33, Max Vogel 31:33, Logan Preddy 32:25, Nathan Powell 32:26, Preston Remien 38:06, and Dillon Thrower 38:38 also competed for the team.
The Warriors next meet on Saturday September 8th at the SCTCCCA Coach’s Classic held at the Clemson Sandhills research center in Columbia, SC.
