The Indian Land cross country team competed at the Wendy’s Invitational on Saturday October 6th at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC. The girl’s team placed fifteenth out of twenty-nine teams in the women’s open race. The boy’s team placed twenty-first out of thirty teams.
Leading the Lady Warriors in the girls open race was freshman Mattie-Baile Tripp who finished with a time of 22:36. Chloe Duernberger 22:49, Baileigh Sizemore 23:21, Sara Valle 23:41, Olivia Morales 24:29, and Caprielle Terry 24:41 also competed for the team.
Leading the girls in the junior varsity race was Sophmore Julia Brown who finished with a time of 29:51. Zoe Campbell 30:40, Blakely Hardin 30:53, Ariela Gonzalez 31:24, and Anna Connors 37:14 also competed for the team.
Leading the boys team in the open race was Junior Walker Reeves who finished thirty-sixth overall with a time of 18:02. Ben Elson 18:59, Maddox Yegge 19:16, Jaxon Barringer 20:00, Allen Livingston 20:21, Noah Kiger 20:22, and Jared Diemer 22:17 also competed for the team.
In the boys Freshman-sophomore junior varsity race David Pohlheber finished with a time of 21:15. Nathan Wardy 22:25, Peter Campbell 22:43, William Bayley 22:59, Alexander Krull 23:07, Nathan Powell 23:56, Felix Gonzalez 23:57, Jacob Sisler 25:50, Logan Preddy 26:43, and Dillon Thrower 44:22 also competed for the team.
In the Boys Junior-senior junior varsity race Peter Stein 25:11 and Isiah Phifer 25:36 also competed for the team.
The Warriors next race is the Cici’s Sandhills Invitational on October 13th held at the Clemson Sandhills research center in Columbia, SC.
