The Indian Land cross country team competed in the Providence Invitational on Saturday August 24th at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC. The girl’s team placed third out of sixteen teams. Broughton won the girls Invitational race with Lake Norman Charter placing second. This is the lady Warriors best team finish at the Providence Invitational. The boy’s team placed twenty-second out of twenty-five teams.
Leading the Lady Warriors in the girl’s invitational race was senior Hannah Sawyer who finished sixth overall with a time of 21:07. Olivia Morales placed twenty-fourth with a time of 22:21. Rachel Graham 23:00, Mattie-Baile Tripp 23:02, Lauren Sizemore 23:53, Caprielle Terry 23:59, and Chloe Duernberger 24:35 also competed for the team.
Leading the boy’s team in the invitational race was sophomore Maddox Yegge who finished with a time of 19:25. Jaxon Barringer 19:38, Noah Kiger 19:53, Liam Bayley 21:51, and Jacob Sisler 22:08 also competed for the team.
Leading the girls in the junior varsity race was seventh grader Isabella Kiger with a time of 26:32. Zoe Campbell 26:39, Grace Yegge 27:25, Blakely Hardin 28:39, Julia Brown 29:53, Maithili Bhoop 32:18, Addison Crown 36:48, Anna Connors 37:26, Madelyn Little 37:28, and Molly Diaz 39:02 also competed for the team.
In the boys junior varsity race sophomore David Pohlheber finished with a time of 20:49, Ethan Geiger 20:50, Connor Stebbins 21:45, Ben Carroll 22:51, Alexander Krull 23:27, Kohen Redmond 24:53, Scott Hansen 24:54, Logan Preddy 26:40, Michael Atkinson 26:40, Drew Gersewski 26:59, and Dillon Thrower 32:45 also competed for the team.
