The Indian Land Cross Country team competed at the Friday Night Lights XC festival on Friday September 6th at the Ivey Redmon Sports complex in Kernersville, NC. The girls team placed third overall out of twenty-four teams in the Invitational race. The boy’s team placed eighth out of thirty-three teams in the Invitational race.
Leading the lady Warriors was Senior Hannah Sawyer who placed sixteenth overall with a time of 22:08. Olivia Morales placed twentieth overall with a time of 22:40. Rachel Graham 23:04, Caprielle Terry 23:12.06, Mattie-Baile Tripp 23:12.78, and Chloe Duernberger 25:09 also completed in the varsity race.
Leading the boy’s team was Senior Walker Reeves who placed seventeenth overall with a time of 17:45. Ben Elson 18:19, Maddox Yegge 19:11, Jaxon Barringer 19:26, and Noah Kiger 19:33 also competed in the varsity race.
In the Junior Varsity race Grace Yegge placed twentyfirst overall with a time of 26:44. Danielle Griffith 29:49, Isablella Kiger 29:52, Artie Mahase 31:36, Blakely Hardin 32:34.09, Julia Brown 32:34.36, Madelyn Little 33:47, Addison Crown 36:57, Anna Connors 38:48, and Molly Diaz 42:30 also competed for the team.
In the Boys junior Varsity race David Pohleber placed seventeenth with a time of 21:20, Jacob Sisler 21:36, Connor Stebbins 21:39, Ethan Geiger 22:09, Ben Carroll 22:43, Alexander Krull 22:47, Nathan Wardy 22:49, Jose Bravo 23:10, JT Dilauro 23:11, William Bayley 23:22, Peter Campbell 23:31, Asael Gonzalez 24:20, Kohen Redmond 25:02, Peter Stein 25:22, Drew Gersewski 27:23, Brandon Deckard 27:23, William Preddy 29:05, Dillon Thrower 34:25, Simon Cherry 34:36, and Preston Remien 37:55 also competed for the team.
The Warriors next meet is the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, SC on Saturday September 14th.
