The Indian Land cross country team competed at the Catawba Ridge Home Meet on Wednesday September 9th. The meet was held at Anne Springs Greenway in Fort Mill, SC. The girl’s team placed second out of five teams scoring. The boy’s team placed fifth out of five teams scoring. Schools that attended the meet were Catawba Ridge, South Pointe, Lancaster, York, and Chester.
Leading the girl’s team in the varsity race was freshman Olivia Morales who placed second overall with a time of 22:48. Rachel Graham finished third overall with a time of 23:38. Mattie-Baile Tripp finished fourth overall with a time of 23:53. Caprielle Terry finished fourteenth with a time of 25:42. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Warriors was Ally Basik who placed seventeenth overall with a time of 26:18. Anna Urquhart 26:24 and Lauren Sizemore 26:43 also competed for the team in the varsity race.
In the girls’ Junior Varsity race, eighth grader Isabella Kiger led the team by placing sixth overall with a time of 28:27. Julia Brown 31:54, Madelyn Little 38:05, and Kaylyn Bauder 40:10 also competed in the Junior Varsity Race.
Leading the boy’s team in the varsity race was sophomore Jaxon Barringer who placed tenth overall with a time of 19:51. David Pohlheber placed fourteenth with a time of 19:58. William Bayley finished twenty-fourth overall with a time of 21:54. Felix Gonzalez 22:39 and Ben Carroll 23:00 also competed in the varsity race.
In the boys Junior Varsity race, eighth grader Kohen Redmond led the team by placing sixteenth overall 24:09. Alexander Krull 24:42, Simon Cherry 27:11, Chase Hullinger 31:40 and Ivan Mercado 31:42 also competed in the junior varsity race.
The Warriors next meet is on Tuesday September 15th at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, SC. The race starts and finishes on the football field. The meet starts at 5:30pm.
